| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Forte, the show |
| 4 |
| choir of Palatine High School, on being named Grand Champion at |
| 5 |
| the 27th annual Watseka Show Choir Invitational; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The competition was held at Watseka Community High |
| 7 |
| School on March 13, 2005; Forte competed against 12 other show |
| 8 |
| choirs from Illinois, Indiana, and Virginia; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Forte's director, Steve Sivak, also won first |
| 10 |
| place for choreography; he choreographs and arranges the |
| 11 |
| choir's music himself; the majority of other competing schools' |
| 12 |
| show choirs purchase their choreography; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The group also placed first in the Festival |
| 14 |
| Division at the Chicagoland Showcase held at Hersey High School |
| 15 |
| on March 5, 2005; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Forte is comprised of 30 sophomores, juniors, and |
| 17 |
| seniors; the choir has been in existence for four years and |
| 18 |
| this is the groups's third year of competition; therefore, be |
| 19 |
| it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 22 |
| we offer our congratulations to the student members of Forte |
| 23 |
| and director Steve Sivak; and be it further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to Forte as an expression of our respect and esteem |
| 26 |
| and with best wishes for the group's continued success.
