| WHEREAS, Petersburg Boy Scout Troop 54 participated in the |
| 3 |
| flag raising ceremony at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential |
| 4 |
| Museum dedication on April 19, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Boy Scout Troop 54 of the Abraham Lincoln Council |
| 6 |
| was chartered in December of 1999; the troop's leader is Steve |
| 7 |
| Territo and the troop has 40 registered scouts who range in age |
| 8 |
| from fifth through eleventh grade; the following 32 scouts |
| 9 |
| participated in the ceremony: Ryan Barbee,

| WHEREAS, Troop 54 has advanced two scouts to the rank of |
| 19 |
| Eagle Scout, has five scouts currently working on their Eagle |
| 20 |
| Scout projects, and has twelve scouts who are Order of the |
| 21 |
| Arrow members, the national honor society among scouts; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, The troop is actively supported by 17 registered |
| 23 |
| adult leaders and is sponsored by the Central Presbyterian |
| 24 |
| Church of Petersburg and the Petersburg Rotary Club; the scouts |
| 25 |
| annually participate in many community activities that benefit |
| 26 |
| local organizations, such as Menard County Military Partners, |
| 27 |
| the American Red Cross, Menard County Food Pantry, and |
| 28 |
| providing yard care for local residents who are not able to |
| 29 |
| perform those tasks for themselves; and
|
| 30 |
| WHEREAS, Several of the scouts have participated in a High |
| 31 |
| Adventure camp where they canoe the waters bordering Minnesota |
