| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, On Saturday, May 7, 2005, the Lakeside |
| 3 |
| Congregation For Reform Judaism celebrated its 50th |
| 4 |
| anniversary; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The Lakeside Congregation For Reform Judaism has |
| 6 |
| had several generations of caring, devoted, and committed |
| 7 |
| members who demonstrate their willingness to ensure the |
| 8 |
| congregation's well being; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The founders of the congregation had a dream, and |
| 10 |
| they worked hard to bring it to fruition; inspired by a |
| 11 |
| well-defined "Statement of Principles", the founders built a |
| 12 |
| temple, started a superb and now fully accredited religious |
| 13 |
| school, and built a diverse membership drawing from many |
| 14 |
| communities; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, In recent years, Lakeside's membership has |
| 16 |
| increased by 75%; under the leadership of Rabbi Isaac Serotta, |
| 17 |
| the congregation has been energized both spiritually and as a |
| 18 |
| community; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, The congregation also celebrated the official |
| 20 |
| dedication of a new Torah scroll, the first new scroll in |
| 21 |
| Lakeside's history; the scroll arrived at Lakeside on May 3, |
| 22 |
| 2005, and was donated by the Rudman family in memory of Ken |
| 23 |
| Rudman; the scroll was written by a scribe, Rabbi Pinches |
| 24 |
| Zusman, in Israel; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 26 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 27 |
| we congratulate the members of the Lakeside Congregation For |
| 28 |
| Reform Judaism on the occasion of the organization's 50th |
| 29 |
| anniversary; and be it further
