| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Phillip Van Noord of South Holland has retired |
| 3 |
| after completing his 43rd year of teaching at Illiana Christian |
| 4 |
| High School; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He began his work at Illiana primarily teaching |
| 6 |
| science; he became a math teacher four years later, and he has |
| 7 |
| taught Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 over the years; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He is known as a very passionate, organized, |
| 9 |
| caring, and energetic man who enjoys young people, has an |
| 10 |
| affinity for numbers, and likes to talk; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, For a number of years he was an assistant |
| 12 |
| basketball coach and head coach for track and field and cross |
| 13 |
| country; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, During the past five years, he has worked as one |
| 15 |
| of the co-sponsors of the Christian Service Club; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Van Noord plans to take some time to rest and |
| 17 |
| relax with his wife, Betty, and visit their ten grandchildren; |
| 18 |
| therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 21 |
| we congratulate Phillip Van Noord on his long and exemplary |
| 22 |
| teaching career and we thank him for his commitment and service |
| 23 |
| to his students, school, and community; and be it further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to Phillip Van Noord as an expression of our respect |
| 26 |
| and esteem and with our best wishes for a happy and fulfilling |
| 27 |
| retirement.
