| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Mildred "Milly" Ruth is retiring after serving |
| 3 |
| Grafton Township in McHenry County for over four decades; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Ruth, whose family was involved in Grafton |
| 5 |
| Township government for decades, is retiring as Township |
| 6 |
| Supervisor; she began serving as the Township's bookkeeper in |
| 7 |
| 1964; she followed both her husband and son as Supervisor; she |
| 8 |
| assisted her husband, Howard, for three terms, then her son, |
| 9 |
| Charles, for two terms; after she was appointed Supervisor, she |
| 10 |
| ran unopposed for the last three terms; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, She and her husband, Howard, farmed and also owned |
| 12 |
| the Dairy Mart on Route 47 in Huntley; after selling the Dairy |
| 13 |
| Mart, she went to work at Union Special, a commercial sewing |
| 14 |
| machine factory, before going to work for the Township; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Grafton Township was at one time considered a |
| 16 |
| rural area, but has diversified and is now considered urban; |
| 17 |
| the Township building has been enlarged and the possibility of |
| 18 |
| senior citizen transportation is being considered; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, She is proud of Grafton Township's food pantry |
| 20 |
| that has grown over the last several years; it serves more than |
| 21 |
| 100 singles and 45 to 50 families each month; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, Following her retirement, Mrs. Ruth will still be |
| 23 |
| involved in the American Legion Auxiliary, Chamber of Commerce, |
| 24 |
| and church; she also works at a thrift shop that benefits the |
| 25 |
| hospital in Woodstock; and
|
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, She has two sons, Charles and William, and a |
| 27 |
| daughter, Penny; and
|
| 28 |
| WHEREAS, The citizens of Grafton Township are grateful for |
