| WHEREAS, Rita Miotti has retired from her position as |
| 3 |
| Coordinator of Contract and Management Services for the Village |
| 4 |
| of Matteson after 28 years with the Village; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Miotti began her career with the Village of |
| 6 |
| Matteson as an Administrative Assistant on May 23, 1977, and |
| 7 |
| shortly thereafter, she also assumed the duties of Deputy |
| 8 |
| Clerk; in 1985, she was promoted to the position of Assistant |
| 9 |
| to the Village Administrator and to the position of Director of |
| 10 |
| Administrative Services in 1991; she was appointed Coordinator |
| 11 |
| of Contract and Management Services in 2001; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Her responsibilities have included many of the |
| 13 |
| day-to-day operations of the Village Hall, where both the |
| 14 |
| residents and employees of the Village have received the |
| 15 |
| benefit of her knowledge and experience in municipal |
| 16 |
| government; the department is responsible for water billing, |
| 17 |
| business licensing, personnel and insurance record keeping, |
| 18 |
| and many other activities; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Miotti's greatest contributions to the |
| 20 |
| quality of life in Matteson have been the special projects and |
| 21 |
| programs that she has developed during her tenure; she |
| 22 |
| negotiated the franchise agreement that brought cable |
| 23 |
| television to the community, participated in the development of |
| 24 |
| the regional self-insured program, negotiated various health |
| 25 |
| benefit programs for Village employees, and served as one of a |
| 26 |
| small group of dedicated people who founded the Old Plank Road |
| 27 |
| Trail Commission, making the dream of a regional hike/bike |
| 28 |
| trail a reality; and
|
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Miotti and her husband, Marc, and daughter, |
| 30 |
| Frankie, live in New Lenox and are active in community |
| 31 |
| activities; therefore, be it
