| WHEREAS, Edward H. King is retiring from Walgreen Co. in |
| 3 |
| Deerfield after serving as Director of Government of Community |
| 4 |
| Relations since 2000 and as Director of Trade and Corporate |
| 5 |
| Relations from 1978 to 2000; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, He earlier worked as an attorney with Donovan, |
| 7 |
| Freese & March in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as Project Director for |
| 8 |
| Disaster Recovery Assistance and Executive Director of the |
| 9 |
| Northern Oklahoma Development Association in Enid, Oklahoma, |
| 10 |
| and as Chief Legislative Assistant to U. S. Senator Dewey F. |
| 11 |
| Bartlett; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. King received his Bachelor of Arts degree in |
| 13 |
| 1968 from the University of Tulsa and his Juris Doctorate in |
| 14 |
| 1972 from the University of Tulsa College of Law; he is a |
| 15 |
| member of the Oklahoma Bar Association; and |
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He has served as Vice Chairperson of the Illinois |
| 17 |
| Retail Merchants Association and as a board member of the |
| 18 |
| California Retail Association, the Association of Iowa |
| 19 |
| Merchants, the Wisconsin Merchants Federation, the New York |
| 20 |
| Retail Association, and the Florida Retail Federation; he has |
| 21 |
| served on the Executive Committee of the Metropolitan Planning |
| 22 |
| Council of Chicago, as a board member of the Transportation |
| 23 |
| Management Association on Lake-Cook Road, and as a member of |
| 24 |
| the Economic Club of Chicago; and
|
| 25 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. King is a Lifetime Member of Rotary |
| 26 |
| International and a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary |
| 27 |
| International Foundation; he has received the Options for |
| 28 |
| People-Joseph G. Kelly Memorial Award and the National Family |
| 29 |
| Partnership Enrique Camarena Award; therefore, be it
