| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize significant |
| 4 |
| milestones in the lives of citizens of the State; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, In 1954, Grover Sloan graduated from the |
| 6 |
| University of Illinois at Chicago with a Doctorate of Medicine; |
| 7 |
| he finished his internship in 1955; he went on to serve in the |
| 8 |
| medical field as a member of the United States Army at Fort Sam |
| 9 |
| Houston in San Antonio and Fort Polk in Louisiana; he returned |
| 10 |
| to Illinois and began his private practice on October 21, 1957, |
| 11 |
| in Carrier Mills; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Sloan is a lifetime member of the Academy of |
| 13 |
| Family Physicians; he is also a member of the AMA and the |
| 14 |
| Illinois State Medical Society; he has been associated with |
| 15 |
| ISMIE since its inception in 1979, and he has been on the Board |
| 16 |
| of Directors since 1979; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, He has been married to his wife, Betty, for 41 |
| 18 |
| years; they have six children, 13 grandchildren, and five |
| 19 |
| great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 22 |
| we thank Dr. Grover Sloan for his many years of devoted service |
| 23 |
| to the people of Southern Illinois, and we congratulate him on |
| 24 |
| the notable achievement of 50 years of service in the medical |
| 25 |
| field; and be it further
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 27 |
| presented to Dr. Sloan as an expression of our deepest respect |
| 28 |
| and esteem.
