| WHEREAS, Carmon DeLeone celebrates his 20th season as Music |

| Director and Conductor of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra |
| 4 |
| at the Grand Opening Night Concert on November 5, 2005 at The |
| 5 |
| Center for Performing Arts, Governors State University; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra is the |
| 7 |
| largest performing arts organization in the Chicago Southland |
| 8 |
| providing professional orchestral music of beauty and |
| 9 |
| excellence to the region; it draws audiences from Chicago, |
| 10 |
| Indiana, and Michigan, and more than 68 south and southwest |
| 11 |
| suburbs; now in its 28th season, the Illinois Philharmonic |
| 12 |
| integrates artistry, repertoire, education, diversity, and |
| 13 |
| collaborations with its performances; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, In 1995, Maestro DeLeone was named the Illinois |
| 15 |
| Music Director of the Year by the Illinois Council of |
| 16 |
| Orchestras; under his leadership, the Orchestra has expanded |
| 17 |
| the scope and content of its musical programming and was named |
| 18 |
| Illinois Orchestra of the Year in 1992; and

| WHEREAS, He has also been Music Director of the Cincinnati |
| 20 |
| Ballet for 36 years, and this season also marks his 23rd year |
| 21 |
| as Music Director of the Middletown Symphony in Ohio; at New |
| 22 |
| York's Carnegie Hall, he has served as Conductor and Host of |
| 23 |
| the Family Concert Series and, in Europe, has conducted |
| 24 |
| frequent performances with the Luxembourg Philharmonic |
| 25 |
| Orchestra; and

| WHEREAS, A talented composer, he has written many original |
| 27 |
| scores for the Ballet; his best known work, the full-length |
| 28 |
| ballet in two acts, Peter Pan, garnered rave reviews at its |
| 29 |
| opening and first revival in Cincinnati and equal praise when |
| 30 |
| it was presented by Ballet West in Salt Lake City, Iowa City, |
