| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Frank |
| 4 |
| Melvin Grego on Wednesday, August 24, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born in Greenville, Mississippi, to Roslie |
| 6 |
| and Samuel Grego; he was the beloved husband of Noel Russell |
| 7 |
| Grego for 53 years; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was an educator and educational administrator; |
| 9 |
| he retired from Lew Wallace High School in Gary, Indiana; he |
| 10 |
| was also a community leader, serving as President of the |
| 11 |
| Chesterfield Community Council and Facilitator for CAPS, Beat |
| 12 |
| 632; he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and an |
| 13 |
| active member of St. Joachim Parish for more than 40 years; and |
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Grego was a lover of history, philosophy, poetry, |
| 15 |
| and music; he held degrees in music, education, and educational |
| 16 |
| administration; he was the quintessential musician; he played |
| 17 |
| saxophone and clarinet and his preference was classical music |
| 18 |
| and jazz; he was, at one time, a choir director, and he loved |
| 19 |
| to teach; he taught not only his students, but all who met him; |
| 20 |
| and |
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Sharing and caring are the two words he used most |
| 22 |
| often; his caring for his family knew no bounds; his neighbors |
| 23 |
| and associates were aware of his kindness; he gladly offered |
| 24 |
| rides to those who called and was always on time; and
|
| 25 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Frank Melvin Grego has been deeply |
| 26 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Noel Russell Grego; his |
| 27 |
| children, Michael, Charles (Karen), and Noel Angela Martin; his |
| 28 |
| grandchildren, Brian, Martin, Damon, and Marie Grego; his |
| 29 |
| sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Vera Russell Allen, Pearl |
| 30 |
| Russell Frye (William), Patrick David Russell (Rita), and Hugh |
