| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in |
| 4 |
| the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Ronald E. |
| 6 |
| Everett, Ph.D., will be retiring June 30, 2006, after 40 years |
| 7 |
| of service in the field of education; he is Professor Emeritus |
| 8 |
| of Educational Administration and School Business Management |
| 9 |
| at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and has served as |
| 10 |
| Executive Director of the Illinois Association of School |
| 11 |
| Business Officials (Illinois ASBO) since 1982; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Everett received his Bachelor of Science |
| 13 |
| degree, Master of Arts degree, and Ph.D. from the University of |
| 14 |
| Utah; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He spent 17 years in such roles as a classroom |
| 16 |
| teacher, Business Manager, Assistant Superintendent, and |
| 17 |
| Superintendent and 23 years in his university assignment and as |
| 18 |
| Executive Director; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Everett received the first ASBO International |
| 20 |
| Eagle Award (Service to the Profession), the IASA Van Miller |
| 21 |
| Outstanding Scholar Practitioner Award from the University of |
| 22 |
| Illinois and the Illinois Association of School |
| 23 |
| Administrators, and was installed as Distinguished Visiting |
| 24 |
| Scholar at Lincolnshire-Humberside University in Lincoln, |
| 25 |
| England, where he annually lectures in their MBA program for |
| 26 |
| school bursars; and
|
| 27 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Everett has published many articles in the |
| 28 |
| area of school finance and school business management and |
| 29 |
| recently completed a second edition of an accounting textbook |
| 30 |
| for school administrators; in addition to his publication |
