| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to recognize |
| 3 |
| significant milestones in the lives of the people of this |
| 4 |
| State; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mabel |
| 6 |
| (Stevenson) Robinson of Chicago is celebrating the 80th |
| 7 |
| anniversary of her birth; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Robinson was born on September 23, 1925, in |
| 9 |
| Denver, Colorado; she married Robert Robinson, and together |
| 10 |
| they had eight children; the children were raised in the Roman |
| 11 |
| Catholic faith and attended Catholic elementary and high |
| 12 |
| schools in Chicago; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Sadly, her husband passed away at a young age, and |
| 14 |
| Mrs. Robinson continued to raise her children on her own; she |
| 15 |
| kept them in Catholic schools and ensured that they attended |
| 16 |
| college; today, the professions of her children include police |
| 17 |
| officer, registered nurse, counselor, pharmacist, lawyer, CEO |
| 18 |
| of the local (Detroit area) Girl Scouts, college placement |
| 19 |
| counselor, university administrator, and business owner; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Her family is hosting an 80th birthday party in |
| 21 |
| her honor on Saturday, September 24, 2005; therefore, be it
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 23 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 24 |
| we congratulate Mabel (Stevenson) Robinson on the occasion of |
| 25 |
| her 80th birthday, and we extend to her our sincere best wishes |
| 26 |
| for the future; and be it further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to her as an expression of our respect and esteem.
