| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Leslie A. Albert, Sr., Fire Chief of the City of |
| 3 |
| Decatur, is retiring in October 2005 after 29 years of service; |
| 4 |
| and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Albert joined the Decatur Fire Department in |
| 6 |
| 1976 as a Firefighter; he was promoted to Lieutenant in 1983, |
| 7 |
| Fire Captain in 1988, Battalion Chief in 1992, Fire Marshal in |
| 8 |
| 1995, and Fire Chief in 1996; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He graduated from Blue Mound High School, Richland |
| 10 |
| Community College in 1990, the National Fire Academy in 1998, |
| 11 |
| Western Illinois University in 1999, and Grand Canyon |
| 12 |
| University in 2002, where he completed a Master of Science |
| 13 |
| Executive Fire Service Leadership Program; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Albert has been active in community affairs |
| 15 |
| and professional organizations; he has served on several |
| 16 |
| Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal's ad hoc committees |
| 17 |
| involving technical rescues and Richland Community College's |
| 18 |
| Fire Science and EMS Advisory Boards; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, He also retired in 1997 as a Master Sergeant in |
| 20 |
| the U.S. Army Reserves after 20 years of service and is a |
| 21 |
| critical care technician, certified cardiographic technician, |
| 22 |
| EMS and CPR instructor, paramedic, and advanced cardiac life |
| 23 |
| support instructor; and
|
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, He and his wife, Sue, have two sons, Leslie A. |
| 25 |
| Albert, Jr., and Todd M. Albert, and five grandchildren; |
| 26 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |

| we congratulate Leslie A. Albert, Sr., on his 29 years of |
