| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The National Education Associations's 377,000 |
| 3 |
| Education Support Professional (ESP) members and the 23,000 ESP |
| 4 |
| members of the Illinois Education Association take care of our |
| 5 |
| children every day and make sure they have the tools they need |
| 6 |
| to succeed in our schools and classrooms; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, ESPs constitute more than 40% of the total K-12 |
| 8 |
| education workforce and are a critically important part of the |
| 9 |
| school community and the education of the children of this |
| 10 |
| State; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, These professionals are directly involved in the |
| 12 |
| delivery of educational services that positively affect |
| 13 |
| student learning as bus drivers, cafeteria workers, |
| 14 |
| paraeducators, school nurses, office assistants, technicians, |
| 15 |
| custodians, and security professionals; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, ESP members of the National Education Association |
| 17 |
| bring years of experience to their jobs, are dedicated to |
| 18 |
| students and schools, and form a strong link between schools |
| 19 |
| and the communities they serve; therefore, be it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 22 |
| we recognize Educational Support Professionals for outstanding |
| 23 |
| service to the schools and children of this State; and be it |
| 24 |
| further
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to the Illinois Education Association as an |
| 27 |
| expression of our respect and esteem.
