| WHEREAS, Bruce N. Johnson is retiring as Chief of Police of |
| 3 |
| the Village of Round Lake Park and the Village of Hainesville |
| 4 |
| after more than 20 years in Law Enforcement; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Johnson, in addition to his position as |
| 6 |
| Chief of Police, is an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at the |
| 7 |
| Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of |
| 8 |
| Police Staff and Command, and teaches courses in Forensics and |
| 9 |
| Investigations at William Rainey Harper College; his academic |
| 10 |
| credentials include a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal |
| 11 |
| Social Justice and a Master of Science Degree from Lewis |
| 12 |
| University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude; he has also |
| 13 |
| completed an extensive number of courses and seminars, some |
| 14 |
| conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pennsylvania |
| 15 |
| State University, University of Louisville, Illinois Emergency |
| 16 |
| Management Agency, Norfolk Constabulary and New Scotland Yard, |
| 17 |
| England, and the Garda Siochana College Templemore, Ireland; |
| 18 |
| and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Johnson has served on the Lake County |
| 20 |
| Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, the College of Lake |
| 21 |
| County Criminal Justice Institute Advisory Committee, and the |
| 22 |
| Advisory Board of the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy; he is a |
| 23 |
| member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, |
| 24 |
| serves on the Executive Board of the Illinois Association of |
| 25 |
| Chiefs of Police, and is a Past President of the Lake County |
| 26 |
| Chiefs of Police Association; and
|
| 27 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Johnson is a Board Member of the Lake County |
| 28 |
| After School Coalition, the Round Lake Area Exchange Club, and |
| 29 |
| the Institute for Public Safety Partnerships; he is a Member of |
| 30 |
| the B.E.S.T. Program Development Committee and the Character |
| 31 |
| Counts Coalition; he is also a Chief Warrant Officer in the |
| 32 |
| United States Marine Corps Reserve and a member of American |
