| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in |
| 4 |
| the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Walter H. |
| 6 |
| Warfield, Ph.D., will be retiring June 30, 2006, after 38 years |
| 7 |
| of service in the field of education; he has served as |
| 8 |
| Executive Director of the Illinois Association of School |
| 9 |
| Administrators (IASA) since 1992; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Beginning as a teacher, sponsor, and coach at |
| 11 |
| Madison High and Junior High Schools in 1968 to 1973, Dr. |
| 12 |
| Warfield's career carried him through successive positions as |
| 13 |
| Principal for Mason City High School from 1973 to 1977 and |
| 14 |
| research assistant for Illinois State University from 1977 to |
| 15 |
| 1978; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He then served as Superintendent for Fairfield |
| 17 |
| Community High School District from 1978 to 1984, Mattoon |
| 18 |
| Community Unit School District from 1984 to 1988, and Decatur |
| 19 |
| Public Schools from 1988 to 1992; in 1992, he was selected by |
| 20 |
| the IASA as its Executive Director; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History |
| 22 |
| in 1968 and Master of Science degree in Education |
| 23 |
| Administration in 1973 from Southern Illinois University; he |
| 24 |
| received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education |
| 25 |
| Administration in 1978 from Illinois State University; and
|
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to his community activities, Dr. |
| 27 |
| Warfield previously served on and continues to serve on |
| 28 |
| numerous educational consortia and other associations and |
| 29 |
| committees relating to the field of education; and
