| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Mary A. Haynes on |
| 4 |
| the occasion of her retirement from the Chicago Police |
| 5 |
| Department; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Mary was born and spent the first ten years of her |
| 7 |
| life on the West Side of Chicago; her family moved to Torrance, |
| 8 |
| California, where she lived until her 18th birthday, when she |
| 9 |
| left to return to Chicago; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Mary joined the Chicago Police Department in 1989; |
| 11 |
| she began working the 018 District and later moved to the 011 |
| 12 |
| District on the West Side; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Mary won several awards for her outstanding |
| 14 |
| performance in the 011 District, including an award for making |
| 15 |
| the most arrests in a year on her watch; she has spent the last |
| 16 |
| 5 years working as an undercover narcotics officer in the |
| 17 |
| Narcotics and Gang Investigation Section of the Chicago Police |
| 18 |
| Department; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Two of Mary's three children are also police |
| 20 |
| officers; Tina is a patrolman assigned to the 011 District, and |
| 21 |
| David is a Sergeant assigned to the Terrorism Awareness and |
| 22 |
| Response Academy; the third, Kim, works for the YMCA and was |
| 23 |
| featured in a nationwide advertisement for the YMCA; and
|
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, Mary currently has four grandchildren; she soon |
| 25 |
| will become a grandmother for the fifth time; therefore, be it
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 27 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 28 |
| we congratulate Mary A. Haynes on her retirement from the |
| 29 |
| Chicago Police Department; and be it further
