| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Carmen Alicea-Reyes was born in Puerto Rico and |
| 3 |
| raised in the United States; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Alicea-Reyes has devoted her entire |
| 5 |
| professional career to community work; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, For the past 11 years, Carmen has faithfully |
| 7 |
| served the community of Logan Square as Executive Director of |
| 8 |
| the Alliance of Logan Square Organizations (ALSO); and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She worked diligently to strengthen the ALSO |
| 10 |
| organization to respond to the community's needs; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, She successfully created a collaborative network |
| 12 |
| among diverse organizations, so families in the community could |
| 13 |
| receive comprehensive services; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Under her leadership, ALSO experienced tremendous |
| 15 |
| growth which has greatly benefited the children and families of |
| 16 |
| Humboldt Park, West Town, and Logan Square; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Carmen's dedication to our community has made |
| 18 |
| Logan Square a better place, one in which families live and |
| 19 |
| thrive; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, While we are saddened by Carmen's resignation from |
| 21 |
| ALSO, we are grateful for her leadership and wish her the best |
| 22 |
| as she pursues her goals; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 24 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 25 |
| we honor Carmen Alicea-Reyes for being a successful and |
| 26 |
| dedicated community leader who has served many people, |
| 27 |
| organizations, and communities in her 11 years of service at |
