| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Raymond W. "Burrhead" |
| 4 |
| Lamkin of Champaign on Saturday, October 22, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lamkin was born on March 23, 1918, in Hammond |
| 6 |
| to Clyde E. and Lola M. Lecrone Lamkin; he married Irene E. |
| 7 |
| Korsmeyer on July 24, 1955; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lamkin was a graduate of Bement High School; |
| 9 |
| he was a drop forger at Clifford and Jacobs Company; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lamkin served in the United States Army during |
| 11 |
| World War II in the European Theatre of Operation Normandy at |
| 12 |
| the end of the war; he was a fifty year volunteer at the |
| 13 |
| Danville Veteran's Center; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lamkin was a member of the First Presbyterian |
| 15 |
| Church of Champaign, where he was a former deacon on two |
| 16 |
| occasions; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lamkin was a member of the Piatt Historical |
| 18 |
| and Genealogical Society, the American Legion Post #24, the VFW |
| 19 |
| Post #5520, the US Calvary Association, and the 106th Cavalry |
| 20 |
| Regiment Association; he was a member and former state |
| 21 |
| commander of the Amvets Post #3; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, three |
| 23 |
| brothers, and two sisters; and |
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Raymond W. "Burrhead" Lamkin has |
| 25 |
| been deeply felt by many, especially his wife; his daughter, |
| 26 |
| Patsy Ann Spinks; his grandchild; and his two sisters, Patricia |
| 27 |
| Ford and Evelyn Pierce; therefore, be it
