| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Jokes and Notes, located at 4641 South King Drive, |
| 3 |
| is a premier Comedy/Jazz Club featuring primarily minority |
| 4 |
| comedians; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The club is set to deliver big laughs and sounds |
| 6 |
| of smooth jazz in the heart of the Bronzeville District, just |
| 7 |
| steps away from the monumental site of the Harold Washington |
| 8 |
| Cultural Center; it is a hip, new, beautifully designed, |
| 9 |
| state-of-the-art 225 seat club with a rich and sophisticated |
| 10 |
| decor, equipped with a full bar, cozy circular banquettes, and |
| 11 |
| television monitors; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, The Grand Opening event, scheduled for Friday, |
| 13 |
| January 27, 2006, will feature comedienne, Monique, and host, |
| 14 |
| George Willborn; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Mary Lindsey and Norman Clark, co-owners, are set |
| 16 |
| to provide the south side community with premiere |
| 17 |
| entertainment; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 20 |
| we congratulate Jokes and Notes on the occasion of its grand |
| 21 |
| opening on January 27, 2006, bringing the sweet sounds of good |
| 22 |
| times back to the Bronzeville District; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 24 |
| presented to Mary Lindsey and Norman Clark as an expression of |
| 25 |
| our best wishes for the success of Jokes and Notes.
