HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in 
4
the lives of Illinois citizens; and
 

5
    WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Scott Senti, his 
6
wife, Tamera, and their daughters, Kelly Senti Wilcox and Emily 
7
Senti, won the "Biggest Loser Special Edition: The Little Italy 
8
Family vs. 1950s Diner Family"; and
 

9
    WHEREAS, Scott and Tamera and their daughters entered the 
10
nationally televised weight loss competition hoping to win 
11
$50,000 and a family vacation; and
 

12
    WHEREAS, The family competed against the Sapienza family, 
13
restaurant owners from the Bronx, beginning last spring; and
 

14
    WHEREAS, The Senti family went to The Ranch in Los Angeles 
15
with trainers who taught them how to exercise and eat 
16
correctly; and

    WHEREAS, During their 10-day stay at The Ranch, the Senti 
18
Family lost 70 pounds and won a family vacation; and
 

19
    WHEREAS, The Senti family then went home determined to 
20
maintain the healthy lifestyle they had been taught and 
21
continue the weight loss over the next six months as they 
22
continued to work at their Maid Rite Fifties Diner; and
 

23
    WHEREAS, Each family weighed-in for the national 
24
television program on February 1, 2006; and
 

25
    WHEREAS, The Senti family lost a combined total of 242 
26
pounds, winning the $50,000 prize; and

    WHEREAS, The Senti family has honored the community of 
2
Peoria Heights and the State of Illinois through their efforts 
3
and determination to pursue healthy lifestyles and lose weight; 
4
therefore, be it
 

5
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6
NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7
we honor and recognize Scott Senti, Tamera Senti, Kelly Senti 
8
Wilcox, and Emily Senti for being role models in healthy 
9
behavior for all of us; and be it further
 

10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to Scott and Tamera Senti, Kelly Senti Wilcox, and 
12
Emily Senti as an expression of our respect and esteem.
