| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois have learned that their former, long-time |
| 4 |
| colleague, Joel Brunsvold, will be honored at the Illinois |
| 5 |
| Conservation Foundation's Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame |
| 6 |
| Banquet on March 4, 2006; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Joel Brunsvold was first elected to the Illinois |
| 8 |
| House of Representatives in November of 1982; he served as a |
| 9 |
| State Representative until March of 2003; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, As a member of the Illinois House of |
| 11 |
| Representatives, Joel Brunsvold served as Chairman of the |
| 12 |
| Illinois Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus and the Illinois |
| 13 |
| Democratic Sportsmen's Alliance; in addition, he belongs to |
| 14 |
| Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Joel Brunsvold was named Outstanding Legislator |
| 16 |
| of the Year by numerous sportsmen groups, including the |
| 17 |
| Illinois State Rifle Association and Safari Club |
| 18 |
| International; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Joel Brunsvold served with distinction as the |
| 20 |
| Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources from |
| 21 |
| April of 2003 until December 31, 2005; while serving as |
| 22 |
| Director of the Department, he concurrently served as Chairman |
| 23 |
| of the Illinois Conservation Board, which oversees the Illinois |
| 24 |
| Conservation Foundation; and
|
| 25 |
| WHEREAS, As both a State Representative and the Director of |
| 26 |
| the Department of Natural Resources, Joel Brunsvold was |
| 27 |
| instrumental in bringing the $50 million Sparta Shooting |
| 28 |
| Complex to fruition; and |
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, Joel Brunsvold has displayed a dedication |
