| WHEREAS, The Illinois Valley Central High School Grey |

| Ghosts boys basketball team finished second in the 2006 IHSA |
| 4 |
| Class A Boys Basketball Tournament on March 11, 2006; and
|

| WHEREAS, The Grey Ghosts finished the season with a record |
| 6 |
| of 27 wins and 6 losses, breaking the school record of most |
| 7 |
| wins in a season and becoming the first basketball team in |
| 8 |
| school history to advance to the State tournament; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Grey Ghosts are seniors Zach |
| 10 |
| McAllister, Tyler Anderson, Joel Perez, Chris Shindley, John |
| 11 |
| Sprinkle, and Ryan Thornton; juniors Mason Harney and Michael |
| 12 |
| Huenefeld; sophomores Jacob Bjerk, Kevin Duvall, Josh Parr, and |
| 13 |
| Wes Wayman; freshman Billy Seiler; and manager Jeremy Brown; |
| 14 |
| and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The team is led by Head Coach Jim Thornton and |
| 16 |
| Assistant Coaches Steve Mercer, Jason Barnes, and Brent Fox; |
| 17 |
| they were supported by Superintendent Dr. David Kinney, |
| 18 |
| Principal Kenton Bergman, Assistant Principal Bob Howell, and |
| 19 |
| Athletic Director Denny O'Boyle; the student body, faculty, |
| 20 |
| parents, and community supported the team and showed high |
| 21 |
| levels of sportsmanship, respect, integrity, and school spirit |
| 22 |
| throughout the season; and

| WHEREAS, Several players earned individual honors, |

| including Zach McAllister (first team Mid-Illini |
| 25 |
| All-Conference, third team IBCA, and IHSA All-Tournament Team - |

| second team), Ryan Thornton (first team Mid-Illini |
| 27 |
| All-Conference, first team IBCA, third team AP All-State, and |
| 28 |
| IHSA All-Tournament Team - first team); Chris Shindley (second |
| 29 |
| team Mid-Illini All-Conference), and Tyler Anderson (IHSA |
