| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The East Aurora High School Navy Junior ROTC |
| 3 |
| (NJROTC) drill team has had much success this year, placing |
| 4 |
| first at the Tomcat Drill Meet at Ponquinette Fieldhouse and at |
| 5 |
| the annual NJROTC Area 3 Drill Meet at Great Lakes Naval Base; |
| 6 |
| and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The team, led by Lt. Cmdr. Paul McNabb, competed |
| 8 |
| against 17 other units from Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, |
| 9 |
| Minnesota, and Michigan; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The team placed first in color guard and unit |
| 11 |
| inspection, third in the academic competition and in physical |
| 12 |
| training, and fifth in unarmed exhibition; and |
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Several team members did well individually; Ching |
| 14 |
| Thao placed first in the academic competition; in the unarmed |
| 15 |
| knock-out drill, Gerardo Rivera placed third, Maryra Monarez |
| 16 |
| placed fourth, and Travis Schwab placed ninth; Joey Salgado |
| 17 |
| placed first in the male sit up competition, and Amy Romero |
| 18 |
| placed second in the female sit up competition; in the male |
| 19 |
| push-up category, Rene Salgado earned seventh place, and Hector |
| 20 |
| Moncanda received tenth place; and |
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Winning the area championship title qualifies the |
| 22 |
| team for the national competition in Pensacola, Florida; for |
| 23 |
| the fourth year in a row, the team has earned this opportunity |
| 24 |
| to compete with 24 other schools from throughout the nation for |
| 25 |
| the title of national champion; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
