| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The Mt. Vernon High School Rams varsity and junior |
| 3 |
| varsity cheerleading squads recently placed second in the |
| 4 |
| Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association (ICCA) state meets; |
| 5 |
| and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Rams won their IHSA sectional championship at |
| 7 |
| Highland, which qualified them to participate in the state |
| 8 |
| competition in the medium school category, where they placed |
| 9 |
| tenth; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Following the IHSA competition, the Rams boarded a |
| 11 |
| bus and traveled to Springfield to compete in the championship |
| 12 |
| of the Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association state meet, an |
| 13 |
| event they previously qualified for in January; they took |
| 14 |
| second place out of nineteen teams; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The junior varsity squad competed against sixteen |
| 16 |
| teams in the ICCA finals, placing second as well; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The Mt. Vernon cheerleaders are coached by Lisa |
| 18 |
| Turner, Emilee Mygatt, and Lisa White; therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 21 |
| we congratulate the Mt. Vernon High School Rams varsity and |
| 22 |
| junior varsity cheerleading squads on advancing to the state |
| 23 |
| finals in the IHSA competition and on placing second in the |
| 24 |
| Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association state meets; and be |
| 25 |
| it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 27 |
| presented to each of the members and coaches of the Mt. Vernon |
| 28 |
| High School varsity and junior varsity cheerleading squads.
