| WHEREAS, James Durkan of Indian Head Park has been named |

| Man of the Year by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce in La |
| 4 |
| Grange; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Jim Durkan is president and CEO of Community |
| 6 |
| Memorial Foundation, which was established in August 1995 |
| 7 |
| following the sale of La Grange Memorial Hospital; the |
| 8 |
| Foundation has a mission to improve the health of people who |
| 9 |
| live and work in the western suburbs of Chicago, with strategic |
| 10 |
| initiatives in building organizational effectiveness, early |
| 11 |
| childhood development, youth development, and older adult |
| 12 |
| support; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Durkan's experience in the volunteer and |
| 14 |
| community sectors includes serving as President of
the Hinsdale |
| 15 |
| Center for the Arts Board, member of the Board of Pets & Pals |
| 16 |
| Charities, member of the Board of Directors of Harris Bank |
| 17 |
| Central Region, and board member-elect of the
Siragusa |
| 18 |
| Foundation in Chicago; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Durkan also serves on the following |
| 20 |
| committees: the Health Affinity Group of the Donors Forum of |
| 21 |
| Chicago; Grantmakers in Aging 2006 Annual Conference Program |
| 22 |
| Planning Committee; the "Aging Well" Governing Council |
| 23 |
| (co-chair); the Zook Home & Studio Preservation Committee; the |
| 24 |
| Hinsdale Health & Welfare Planning Committee; the Chicago |
| 25 |
| Sister Cities International Committee; the State of Illinois |
| 26 |
| Charitable Advisory Council; the State of Illinois Assuring |
| 27 |
| Better Child Health and Development Initiative; and the West |

| Suburban Chamber of Commerce Golf Committee, of which he is |
