| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Alexian Brothers Medical Center is celebrating |
| 3 |
| the 40th anniversary of its founding in May this year; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, For more than 700 years, the Alexian Brothers have |
| 5 |
| devoted their lives to the sick, poor, and powerless; the |
| 6 |
| religious order opened its Alexian Brothers Medical Center on |
| 7 |
| May 14, 1966, in Elk Grove; through the years, it has grown |
| 8 |
| into an entire network that serves residents across the |
| 9 |
| Northwest suburbs; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Alexian Brothers Hospital Network also includes |
| 11 |
| the Chicago Rehabilitation Institute at Alexian Brothers |
| 12 |
| Medical Center, also in Elk Grove, and the Alexian Brothers |
| 13 |
| Behavioral Health Center and St. Alexius Medical Center, both |
| 14 |
| in Hoffman Estates; the hospital has grown steadily over the |
| 15 |
| years and is in the process of a face lift as part of the |
| 16 |
| network's $500 million, five-year expansion plan; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Alexian Brothers Medical Center is a 320-bed acute |
| 18 |
| care hospital with more than 750 physicians on staff offering |
| 19 |
| 60 areas of specialization; in the most recent rankings by U.S. |
| 20 |
| News and World Report, the Elk Grove hospital ranked in the |
| 21 |
| nation's top one percent of hospital; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, The hospital earned recognition from U.S. News and |
| 23 |
| World Report in five separate specialties, including heart and |
| 24 |
| heart surgery; digestive disorders; ear, nose, and throat; |
| 25 |
| respiratory care; and geriatrics; therefore, be it
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 27 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 28 |
| we congratulate Alexian Brothers Medical Center on the occasion |
| 29 |
| of its 40th anniversary; and be it further
