| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Dennis |
| 4 |
| "Denny" Burrell of Mattoon on Thursday, April 6, 2006; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Burrell was born on February 11, 1943, in |
| 6 |
| Mattoon to Leonard and Marjorie (Carter) Burrell; he married |
| 7 |
| Vicki David on December 26, 1990; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was vice president of Coles Together; he was |
| 9 |
| formerly employed with ICTC of Mattoon and GTE Telephone |
| 10 |
| Company in Georgia and Florida; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of the Mattoon Kiwanis Club, |
| 12 |
| Mattoon High School Booster Club, former president of The |
| 13 |
| Mattoon Letterman's Club, and member of the Letterman's Club |
| 14 |
| Hall of Fame; he was also a longtime coach and supporter of |
| 15 |
| Mattoon Youth Baseball and Football and an avid fan of the |
| 16 |
| Cardinals baseball team; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Co-workers remember him as hardworking and |
| 18 |
| willing to let others be in the spotlight; he was persistent |
| 19 |
| and likeable and was devoted to his family and community; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Dennis "Denny" Burrell has been |
| 21 |
| deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Vicki; his children, |
| 22 |
| Wendi Haslett, Steve Burrell, Bryan Burrell and wife Krista, |
| 23 |
| and Dustin David; his brothers, Bill Burrell and wife Sheila |
| 24 |
| and Chris Burrell and wife Barb; his sister, Karen White and |
| 25 |
| husband David; and his former wife and mother of Wendi, Steve, |
| 26 |
| and Bryan, Carolyn Burrell; his parents and two brothers |
| 27 |
| preceded him in death; therefore, be it
