| WHEREAS, Katherine Rothwell-Francis is retiring after 47 |
| 3 |
| years of employment with A.C. Nielsen, Jr.; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Rothwell-Francis is a four-term trustee of |
| 5 |
| Waukegan Township; she was appointed as a township trustee in |
| 6 |
| 1989 and was elected to the position in 1990; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, She served 21 years as president of the Genesee |
| 8 |
| Branch YMCA Board and was the first woman to hold that |
| 9 |
| position; she was a board member of the National Council of |
| 10 |
| YMCAs; she was appointed by Mayor Bill Morris to be a board |
| 11 |
| member of the Waukegan City Human Relations Commission; she was |
| 12 |
| a candidate for Park Commissioner for the City of Waukegan; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Positions she has held include 1st vice president |
| 14 |
| of the New Fellowship District Association and |
| 15 |
| secretary/treasurer to the Parent Body; she is a member of |
| 16 |
| Waukegan's Woman's Club; she served as 4th vice president of |
| 17 |
| the Baptist State Convention of Illinois and was chairman of |
| 18 |
| the Lucille C. Williams Scholarship Committee; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Rothwell-Francis is a member of Gideon |
| 20 |
| Missionary Baptist Church, where she is a past B.T.U. director, |
| 21 |
| choir director, Sunday School teacher (45 years), choir member |
| 22 |
| (44 years), Women's Day Chairman (16 years), president of |
| 23 |
| Pastor's Aid (19 years), a member of the Trustee Board, and a |
| 24 |
| Deaconess; she was a 1978 Women's Day Speaker at Second Baptist |
| 25 |
| Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a certified teacher-National |
| 26 |
| Congress Christian Education, and past chairman of special |
| 27 |
| projects in the Church Secretaries Workshop at the National |
| 28 |
| Congress of Christian Education, NBC, USA, Inc.; and
|
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, She was born in Garrard County, Kentucky; she is |
| 30 |
| married to Leonard A. Francis and has two children, three |
