| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, It is the privilege of this Body to recognize and |
| 3 |
| honor some individuals who, through quick thinking and selfless |
| 4 |
| action, were responsible for saving the life of another; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, On Saturday, April 22, 2006, at the annual Tire |
| 6 |
| Amnesty Day event, Ed Marsh, an employee of Expert Tire, was |
| 7 |
| trapped when a truck fell off of a hydraulic lift; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Members of Centralia High School Orphans football |
| 9 |
| team who were assisting with Tire Amnesty Day became aware of |
| 10 |
| the accident and immediately sprang into action; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The team members rushed to the scene and |
| 12 |
| immediately worked together to lift the truck to keep the |
| 13 |
| weight off of Mr. Marsh until police, fire, and ambulance crews |
| 14 |
| arrived at the scene; while he sustained injuries, Mr. Marsh |
| 15 |
| survived the accident because of the assistance of the young |
| 16 |
| men on the scene; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the football team that helped to |
| 18 |
| rescue Mr. Marsh are Kyle Pender, Darren Whitelow, Travis |
| 19 |
| Patten, Tyler McAbee, Travis Arnold, Lucas Waters, Marquise |
| 20 |
| Shackleford, Jarren Baker, Nathan Berry, and Marcus Currie; |
| 21 |
| they were also assisted by Bob Lograsso, Expert Tire manager, |
| 22 |
| and Jason Hill, a Clean and Green volunteer; therefore, be it
|
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 24 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 25 |
| we honor and salute those involved in the rescue of Mr. Ed |
| 26 |
| Marsh, and we thank them for the selfless action involved in |
| 27 |
| the rescue; and be it further
|
| 28 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 29 |
| presented to each of those involved in the rescue of Mr. Marsh |
