| WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Anderson of Spring Grove is retiring |
| 3 |
| from his position as Superintendent of Schools of Lake Villa |
| 4 |
| School District #41 after 36 years in education; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Anderson is a graduate of Chillicothe High |
| 6 |
| School, Wartburg College (Bachelor of Arts, English), Northern |
| 7 |
| Illinois University (Master of Science - Education, |
| 8 |
| Counseling), and National Louis University (Doctor of |
| 9 |
| Education); he has also studied at Northern Illinois |
| 10 |
| University; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He began his career as an English teacher at Tefft |
| 12 |
| Junior High School in Streamwood, went on to serve as a college |
| 13 |
| and career counselor at Warren Township High School in Gurnee, |
| 14 |
| as Vocational Coordinator and Deputy Director at Lake County |
| 15 |
| Area Vocational Center (LCAVC), as Director of Personnel and |
| 16 |
| Public Relations and Assistant Superintendent of Instruction |
| 17 |
| for Freeport School District #145, and as Superintendent of |
| 18 |
| Schools for Quincy School District #172; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Anderson has served at District #41 since |
| 20 |
| 1999; during his tenure he had several major accomplishments; |
| 21 |
| he supervised five district-wide curriculum reviews and |
| 22 |
| adoptions, including social science, fine arts, math, language |
| 23 |
| arts, and science; advanced the use of technology throughout |
| 24 |
| the district to include additional computers in labs, wireless |
| 25 |
| access, and phone system upgrades; instituted a personnel |
| 26 |
| recognition and appreciation program for all district |
| 27 |
| employees; built Martin School and an addition to Palombi |
| 28 |
| Middle School for a new administrative center, board room, |
| 29 |
| classrooms, and main office area for the school; purchased |
| 30 |
| several properties; equalized student attendance center |
| 31 |
| populations by changing school boundaries; received a |
| 32 |
| Certificate of Financial Recognition from the State Board of |
