| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Those individuals who work to protect and serve |
| 3 |
| the citizens of our State are worthy of the highest praise; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Charleston |
| 5 |
| Police Department Police Chief Ted Ghibellini has retired after |
| 6 |
| more than 30 years of placing himself in harms way for the |
| 7 |
| safety of others; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Ghibellini started with the Charleston |
| 9 |
| Police Department in 1974; he was Chief of Police for five |
| 10 |
| years after serving as Assistant Chief for eleven years; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, During his tenure as Chief, he played a key role |
| 12 |
| in the planning for the department's training facility on West |
| 13 |
| Madison Avenue, attaining the grant funds for its creation; the |
| 14 |
| facility is a great asset for Charleston's police officers and |
| 15 |
| can also host training for emergency responders from East |
| 16 |
| Central Illinois; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, In his retirement, Chief Ghibellini plans to fish, |
| 18 |
| golf, work around the house, and spend time with his wife, |
| 19 |
| Connie, and their children; therefore, be it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 22 |
| we congratulate Police Chief Ghibellini on his retirement, and |
| 23 |
| we wish him well in the future; and be it further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to Chief Ghibellini as an expression or our sincere |
| 26 |
| admiration and gratitude for his years of service to the |
| 27 |
| citizens of Illinois.
