| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to recognize |
| 3 |
| significant milestones in the lives of the people of this |
| 4 |
| State; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Stella Marie |
| 6 |
| (Leffler) Boswell of Mt. Vernon recently celebrated the 102nd |
| 7 |
| anniversary of her birth; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Stella Marie Leffler was born on August 29, 1904, |
| 9 |
| in Mt. Vernon, the fifth of nine children; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, She attended Edison and Horace Mann schools in Mt. |
| 11 |
| Vernon; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, She married Seamon O. Boswell in a double wedding |
| 13 |
| with her brother marrying Seamon's sister in 1922; they adopted |
| 14 |
| one son, Richard, and gave birth to another son, Fred "Alvin" |
| 15 |
| Boswell, in 1930; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The Boswells moved several times, living in such |
| 17 |
| places as Chicago and Hammond, Indiana, before returning to Mt. |
| 18 |
| Vernon; they owned a shoe shop and later a restaurant, both in |
| 19 |
| Wayne City; they were married for 53 years, when Mr. Boswell |
| 20 |
| passed away in 1975; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Boswell enjoys needlework, embroidery, |
| 22 |
| gardening, and canning vegetables; her favorite food is pizza |
| 23 |
| from Pizza Hut; she is of the Methodist faith; therefore, be it
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 25 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, we |
| 26 |
| congratulate Stella Marie (Leffler) Boswell on the occasion of |
| 27 |
| her 102nd birthday, and we extend to her our sincere best |
| 28 |
| wishes for the future; and be it further
