| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |

| State of Illinois learned with great sadness of the sudden and |
| 4 |
| untimely death of Keinya (Kee) Patrice Brewer on Friday, August |
| 5 |
| 18, 2006; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on July 13, 1973, to Willie Dale |
| 7 |
| Brewer, who proceeded her in death, and Mable Inez Allen |
| 8 |
| Brewer; she became a Christian at an early age at St. John De |
| 9 |
| LaSalle Catholic Church, where she was a founding member of the |
| 10 |
| Gospel Soul Children of Chicago; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, She attended Holy Cross, St. John De LaSalle, and |
| 12 |
| Countee Cullen elementary schools; she graduated from St. |
| 13 |
| Francis De Sales High School in 1991; she earned a Bachelor of |
| 14 |
| Arts degree in education from Chicago State University and was |
| 15 |
| enrolled in a graduate program at Concordia University, |
| 16 |
| pursuing a master's degree in curriculum and instruction; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Brewer was employed part-time at Marshall |
| 18 |
| Fields for nearly ten years, while serving as a primary teacher |
| 19 |
| at Charles R. Henderson for seven years; she absolutely loved |
| 20 |
| teaching; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, She was a faithful member of Trinity United Church |
| 22 |
| of Christ and saw the light at John A. Bell Jurisdiction Grand |
| 23 |
| Lodge, where she was a member and served as Chaplin of Charity |
| 24 |
| #10 Order of the Eastern Star; and |
| 25 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Keinya (Kee) Patrice Brewer has |
| 26 |
| been deeply felt by many, especially her mother, Mable Inez |
| 27 |
| Allen Brewer; her sister, Paris Anissa Brewer; her brothers, |
| 28 |
| Stephen Edwards and William Dexter Brewer; her niece and |
| 29 |
| nephew, Alex and Brianna; her special friend; her aunts, |
| 30 |
| uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors; and her god children |
