| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, On November 4, 1906, the Sixth District Board of |
| 3 |
| Christian Churches sent Harold E. Monser to Findlay, Illinois, |
| 4 |
| to begin a meeting and organization of the First Christian |
| 5 |
| Church in Findlay; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, There were 42 charter members initially; at a |
| 7 |
| revival held by Evangelist D.C. Blunt over 200 people joined, |
| 8 |
| increasing the membership; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, On October 6, 1908 a cornerstone was laid for the |
| 10 |
| church building; and on January 24, 1909 a dedication was held |
| 11 |
| for the new building; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, The original church building was destroyed by fire |
| 13 |
| on December 7, 1952; on October 11, 1953 a cornerstone was laid |
| 14 |
| for the new building, and the first service was held on April |
| 15 |
| 18, 1954; and the building was dedicated on May 9th of the same |
| 16 |
| year; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, On May 7, 1967 a new education wing was dedicated; |
| 18 |
| and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, A rededication service was held for the church |
| 20 |
| building on May 30, 2004; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 22 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 23 |
| we congratulate the pastor and congregation of the First |
| 24 |
| Christian Church of Findlay, Illinois, on the occasion of the |
| 25 |
| 100th anniversary of the founding of the church; and be it |
| 26 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
