| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to recognize milestones in the |
| 4 |
| lives of Illinois citizens; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Shauna Carey, an art teacher at Booker T. |
| 6 |
| Washington Elementary School in Champaign, Illinois, was |
| 7 |
| recently selected as the 2006 Wal-Mart National Teacher of the |
| 8 |
| Year; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Shauna is a creative educator, using dance, art, |
| 10 |
| and music in a program on conflict resolution; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Shauna takes advantage of the available resources |
| 12 |
| around her, utilizing the University of Illinois campus in |
| 13 |
| Champaign/Urbana to better help her students; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Shauna makes each one of her students feel special |
| 15 |
| and excited about learning; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Shauna Carey is someone that the people of the |
| 17 |
| State of Illinois can look up to, for her dedication to her |
| 18 |
| field, her love of teaching, and her ability to make students |
| 19 |
| like learning; therefore, be it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 22 |
| we congratulate Shauna Carey and wish her continued success in |
| 23 |
| the future; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to Shauna Carey.
