HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives offer our sincere congratulations to the 2006 
4
York Community High School Boy's Cross Country Team and the 
5
entire student body at York Community High School on winning 
6
the Class AA Boys State Championship Title; and
 
7
    WHEREAS, The Dukes' Cross Country team won its 26th state 
8
championship on November 5th, 2006; and
 
9
    WHEREAS, Coach Stan Reddel and Assistant Coaches Jim Hedman 
10
and Clyde Ware led the team to victory; and
 
11
    WHEREAS, York's top three runners, junior Tom Achtien, 
12
senior Mike Fry and sophomore Steve Sulkin earned All-State 
13
honors by finishing among the top 25 in the individual races; 
14
and
 
15
    WHEREAS, The Dukes won the State meet with an impressive 60 
16
points; and
 
17
    WHEREAS, Tom Achtien finished in 8th place, Mike Fry in 9th 
18
place, Steve Sulkin was 15th, Mark Sulkin came in 30th, Alan 
19
D'Ambrogio took 33rd and Nick Kuczwara finished 42nd; and
 
20
    WHEREAS, The Dukes' championship cross country team 
21
includes seniors Alan D'Ambrogio, Mike Edwards, Mike Fry, Tim 
22
Jung, Nick Kuczwara, Kevin Spicer, and Mark Sulkin; and
 
23
    WHEREAS, Also supporting the Dukes drive for victory were 
24
Tom Achtien, Mike Frigo, Brian Spisiak, Steve Sulkin, and Mike 
25
Talbot; and
 
26
    WHEREAS, We recognize the commitment of Athletic Director 
27
Craig Davelis and the Athletic Department as well as the entire

York Community High School in their dedication to train and 
2
educate superior athletes and well-rounded students; and
 
3
    WHEREAS, The runners from York Community High School have 
4
made countless scarifies to succeed in their goal of winning a 
5
fifth straight Cross-Country State Championship; and
 
6
    WHEREAS, The York Community High School, the Elmhurst 
7
community, and friends and families are proud of these fine 
8
young athletes; and
 
9
    WHEREAS, This title represents the dedication and team 
10
unity these young men have shown all season; and
 
11
    WHEREAS, We recognize the talent of these young athletes 
12
and their coaches; therefore, be it
 
13
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
14
NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
15
we do hereby offer our congratulations to the members of the 
16
York Community High School Boy's Cross-Country Team on their 
17
26th State Championship Title; and be it further
 
18
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19
presented to Superintendent Lynn Krizic, Principal Diana 
20
Smith, Athletic Director Craig Davelis, Coach Stan Reddel, 
21
Assistant Coach Jim Hedman, Assistant Coach Clyde Ware, and the 
22
members of the 2006 Class AA Cross Country Championship team.
