| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Farmers Grain |
| 4 |
| Company of Dorans on 100 years of service; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Farmers Grain Company celebrated its 100th |
| 6 |
| anniversary on July 30, 2006; it has the distinction of having |
| 7 |
| the same name and being in the same location as when it was |
| 8 |
| founded 100 years ago; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The original co-op was started with 84 |
| 10 |
| stockholders and the company now has 485 patrons; Farmers Grain |
| 11 |
| has a capacity of 2.6 million bushels, and it is expected that |
| 12 |
| as corn and soybean yields increase and demand grows for |
| 13 |
| renewable fuels, so will the demand for space; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, When it was first founded, farmers brought ear |
| 15 |
| corn in wagons; today, the corn comes shelled and hauled in |
| 16 |
| semis; the harvest is completed much faster today than in years |
| 17 |
| past; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Farmers Grain is successful because of the loyalty |
| 19 |
| of its customers and the commitment of the company to work to |
| 20 |
| provide quality services to farmers; therefore, be it
|
| 21 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 22 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 23 |
| we congratulate Farmers Grain Company on 100 years of service; |
| 24 |
| and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to Farmers Grain Company as an expression of our |
| 27 |
| esteem and with best wishes for the future.
