HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to recognize our colleague, 
4
Representative Roger Jenisch, for his service to the people of 
5
the State of Illinois; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Roger Jenisch was born on July 26, 1964; he has 
7
three children, Stephanie, Roger II, and Amanda; and he is a 
8
partner for the Humbert Insurance Agency; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, He served as a DuPage County Board Member from 
10
1997 to 2004, as a DuPage County Forest Preserve Commissioner 
11
from 1997 to 2002, as  Chairman of the Bloomingdale Commission 
12
and Zoning Appeals Board from 1991 to 1997, on the Village of 
13
Addison Substance Responsibility Commission from 1985 to 1989, 
14
and on the Village of Addison Police Fire Merit Review Board 
15
from 1984 to 1988; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Roger Jenisch has served in the General Assembly 
17
since 2005, representing the 45th District; his legislative 
18
assignments included serving on the Financial Institutions 
19
Committee, Human Services Committee,
Insurance Committee, Kid 
20
Care Subcommittee, Mass Transit Committee, Revenue Committee, 
21
Tourism &
Conventions
Committee, and the Committee of the 
22
Whole; and

 
23
    WHEREAS, While serving in the Illinois House, he awarded 
24
eight one-year General Assembly scholarships for students 
25
demonstrating scholastic achievement, participating in public 
26
and civic affairs, and those planning on attending Illinois 
27
State universities; he held community health fairs for seniors 
28
and children, with events that included demonstrations, health 
29
screenings, and information about local and State services 
30
offered to residents;  he encouraged children to read during 
31
summer months and rewarded them for reading a designated amount

of books for the Super Readers Club; and

 
2
    WHEREAS, He was awarded the title of "Lincolnland Legend" 
3
after he was the centerpiece of a winning essay written by a 
4
student in his district; Lincolnland Legends, a program of 
5
Illinois Dollars for Scholars, awards scholarships to public 
6
high school juniors and seniors from across the State and at 
7
the same time recognizes outstanding Illinois residents who are 
8
role models for youth; the nomination category was for Illinois 
9
residents with backgrounds in government or the military; and
 
10
    WHEREAS, Representative Jenisch was co-sponsor of a number 
11
of important legislative initiatives that became law in the 
12
areas of identity theft, penalties for  driving under the 
13
influence of alcohol or drugs, aggravated assault or battery in 
14
public places, fleeing the scene of an accident,  and 
15
restricting adult entertainment facilities; therefore, be it

 
16
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
17
NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
18
we congratulate Representative Roger Jenisch on a job well done 
19
and wish him all the best in the future; and be it further

 
20
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
21
presented to Representative Jenisch.
