| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois wish to honor The Lake View Korean |
| 4 |
| Presbyterian Church on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of |
| 5 |
| its founding; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church was |
| 7 |
| founded in 1977 in Chicago; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, The rapid growth of the Lake View Korean |
| 9 |
| Presbyterian Church required the church to build a larger |
| 10 |
| facility at the present location in Niles in 1985; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church |
| 12 |
| established the English Congregation under Dr. Lawrence |
| 13 |
| Welborn in 1990; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church will mark |
| 15 |
| the 30th anniversary of its founding on January 28, 2007 in a |
| 16 |
| special concert featuring Handel's Messiah; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church has |
| 18 |
| defined its statement of purpose as to please God through |
| 19 |
| worship, to train lay ministers to serve others, to evangelize |
| 20 |
| God's word, and to live as a model to change the world; |
| 21 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 23 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 24 |
| we congratulate The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church on its |
| 25 |
| 30th anniversary; and be it further
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 27 |
| presented to The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church as an |
| 28 |
| expression of our esteem.
