    Amends the Township Code. Provides that a township with an open space plan may receive and retain funds in surplus of the amount actually necessary to maintain that township's open spaces.  Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning the Township Code.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Township Code is amended  by adding Section 
5
115-66 as follows:

    (60 ILCS 1/115-66  new)

    Sec. 115-66. Surplus for maintenance and operation of open 
8
spaces. A township that has adopted an open space plan may 
9
maintain and receive from year to year funds for maintenance 
10
and operation of the township's open spaces in surplus of the 
11
amount necessary for the annual maintenance and operation of 
12
open spaces within the township.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
14
becoming law.
