| AN ACT concerning education.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |

| 2-3.137 as follows:
|

| (105 ILCS 5/2-3.137 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 2-3.137. Improvement of teacher certification |
| 8 |
| process. The State Board of Education, in collaboration with |
| 9 |
| regional offices of education, shall develop additional |
| 10 |
| improvements to and streamlining and refinement of the teacher |
| 11 |
| certification process.
