| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing Section |
| 5 |
| 29C-5 as follows:
|

| Sec. 29C-5. Three Groups of Legislative Districts.

| 59 legislative districts of this State are divided into 3 |
| 10 |
| groups for
the purpose of establishing the terms of Senators |
| 11 |
| elected from each group.
The districts in each group are |
| 12 |
| distributed substantially equally over the
State. The 3 groups |
| 13 |
| shall consist of 20, 20 and 19 legislative districts,
|
| 14 |
| respectively, with each group having as its first district |
| 15 |
| number, one of
the numbers 1, 2 or 3, and shall be comprised of |
| 16 |
| other district numbers, as
follows: |
