AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 854

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 854  by replacing

everything after the enacting clause with the following:

    "Section 5. The School Code is amended  by adding Sections 
5
10-20.40 and 34-18.33 as follows:

    (105 ILCS 5/10-20.40  new)
7
    Sec. 10-20.40. Wind farm.  A school district may own and 
8
operate a wind generation turbine farm, either individually or 
9
jointly, that directly or indirectly reduces the energy costs 
10
of the school district.

    (105 ILCS 5/34-18.33  new)

    Sec. 34-18.33. Wind farm. The school district may own and 
13
operate a wind generation turbine farm, either individually or 
14
jointly, that directly or indirectly reduces the energy costs 
15
of the school district.

    Section 10. The Public Community College Act is amended  by 
17
adding Section 3-42.3 as follows:

    (110 ILCS 805/3-42.3 new)

    Sec. 3-42.3. Wind farm. To own and operate a wind
