| AN ACT concerning education.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 2-2 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (110 ILCS 805/2-2) (from Ch. 122, par. 102-2)

| Sec. 2-2. The
The members of the State Board shall be |
| 8 |
| citizens and residents of the
State of Illinois and shall be |
| 9 |
| selected as far as may be practicable on the
basis of their |
| 10 |
| knowledge of, or interest and experience in,
community |
| 11 |
| colleges. No member of the State Board shall be engaged in |
| 12 |
| education
as a profession or hold current
membership on a |
| 13 |
| school board or board of trustees of a public or non-public
|
| 14 |
| college, university or technical institute or be employed by |
| 15 |
| the State or
federal government. |
| 16 |
| This Section does not prohibit the student member of the |
| 17 |
| State Board
from being employed by a public community college.
