| AN ACT concerning regulation.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Gas Storage Act is amended by changing |
| 5 |
| Section 1 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (220 ILCS 15/1) (from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 5501)

| Sec. 1. Any corporation which is engaged in or desires to |
| 8 |
| engage in, the
the
distribution, transportation or storage of |
| 9 |
| natural gas or manufactured gas,
which gas, in whole or in |
| 10 |
| part, is intended for ultimate distribution to
the public in |
| 11 |
| the State of Illinois, if the said business of such
corporation |
| 12 |
| is regulated or subject to regulation under either the laws of
|
| 13 |
| the State of Illinois or the laws of the United States, shall |
| 14 |
| have the
right to enter upon, take or damage private property |
| 15 |
| or any interest
therein, in the manner provided for by the law |
| 16 |
| of eminent domain, necessary
or convenient for its said |
| 17 |
| operations, including the storage of gas, all of
which |
| 18 |
| operations are hereby recognized and declared to be affected |
| 19 |
| with a
public interest and all of the property used in which |
| 20 |
| operations is hereby
recognized and declared to be devoted to |
| 21 |
| public use. |
