| AN ACT concerning regulation.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Citizens Utility Board Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 7.2 as follows:
|

| (220 ILCS 10/7.2) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 907.2)

| Sec. 7.2. Executive director: qualifications; appointment. |
| 8 |
| (1) The
The
executive director hired by the board under |
| 9 |
| Section 7 shall have the same
qualifications as a director |
| 10 |
| under Section 12, except that the executive
director need not |
| 11 |
| be a resident of this State nor a member of the corporation.
|
| 12 |
| The executive director may not be a candidate for director |
| 13 |
| while serving
as executive director. |
| 14 |
| (2) To hire the executive director under Section 7, the |
| 15 |
| board shall adhere
to any applicable State or federal law |
| 16 |
| prohibiting discrimination in employment.
|
| 17 |
| (3) The board shall require all applicants for the position |
| 18 |
| of executive
director of the corporation to file a financial |
| 19 |
| statement which includes
the information required under |
| 20 |
| subsection (4) of Section 12. The board
shall require the |
| 21 |
| executive director to file a current statement annually.
