| AN ACT concerning State government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |

| Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 |
| amended by adding Section 605-955 as follows:
|

| 8 |
| Sec. 605-955. Feed Illinois' Children and Families Fund; |
| 9 |
| grants. |
| 10 |
| (a) The Feed Illinois' Children and Families Fund is |
| 11 |
| created as a special fund in the State treasury. From |
| 12 |
| appropriations to the Department from the Fund, the Department |
| 13 |
| must make grants to public or private food banks in Illinois |
| 14 |
| for the purpose of making capital improvements or acquiring |
| 15 |
| other non-food assets. |
| 16 |
| (b) Moneys received for the purposes of this Section, |
| 17 |
| including, without limitation, appropriations, gifts, grants, |
| 18 |
| and awards from any public or private entity, must be deposited |
| 19 |
| into the Fund. Any interest earned on moneys in the Fund must |
| 20 |
| be deposited into the Fund.

| Section 10. The State Finance Act is amended by adding |
| 22 |
| Section
5.640 as follows:
