| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section |
| 5 |
| 1-1004 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (55 ILCS 5/1-1004) (from Ch. 34, par. 1-1004)
|

| Sec. 1-1004. Jurisdiction over Lake Michigan. Each of the
|
| 8 |
| the counties bordering on Lake Michigan shall have
jurisdiction |
| 9 |
| over said lake eastwardly, to the east line of the State. |
