AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2284

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2284, AS AMENDED,

with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment No. 
4
1, on page 1, by replacing line 9 with the following:

    "(a) Definitions.  As used in this Section:
6
    "Eligible organization" means a not-for-profit 
7
organization that has been in existence for no less than 3 
8
years, has been tax exempt for no less than 3 years from the 
9
payment of federal taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the 
10
Internal Revenue Code, and has a principal purpose of promoting 
11
or providing services that would be eligible for funding under 
12
the Illinois Equal Justice Act.

    "Residual funds""; and 
 
14
on page 1, by deleting lines 23 through 24; and
 
15
on page 2, by replacing lines 1 and 2 with the following:
16
"distribution of any residual funds to one or more eligible 
17
organizations, except that up to 50% of"; and
 
18
on page 2, by replacing lines 10 through 13 with the following:
19
"any residual funds to one or more eligible organizations.".
